The
Colonial Kitchen
This
window into the past was created in 1996.
All of the 600 odd pieces that make
up this display were carved
or cut by hand and kept as close as possible
to a single
scale.
The
kitchen is not a replica, or a copy but a true original,
a three dimensional
picture in Huon Pine.
It was not created to be a toy but rather as a
show piece
and a reminder of Australia's early Colonial years.
The
Kitchen is made entirely from Tasmanian Huon Pine and
rests on a Blackwood
base readied for a glass enclosure.
This type of 'Window' is also produced
in the form of
a Wood Worker's Workshop, a General
Store ,
or as a Hotel Bar Room ( au style!).
Each
item is unique and no two items are ever the same.
